Power To Heal Your Mind

I was browsing through the photography section of my local bookstore slash coffee shop, and I didn't quite stumble upon The Art of Burning Man, but rather intentionally asked for it from the store manager.
So I slumped right in the corner between sections Mystery and Crime, because it was the only one with an area rug where I can fully immerse in this long time preparation of the burn. The contemplation is over, I've told myself. One day, preferably 2020--is when we go to Burning Man.
So what is it, the power to heal your mind? Apparently, I left this blog on draft with just a title, no blog. Now, I'm deciding to keep it.

The foreword is from the author/photographer of the book and main designer slash architect of the Temple. He explains, The Temple symbolize 'freeing' of anything you want to set free. He reverberates an unforgettable story after the temple burn, that a guy approached him and thanked him. The guy told him that "because of you, my son who committed suicide is now free, thanks to you".
Perhaps we are all imprisoned in our heads by social constructs and beliefs, and maybe this is our way to only survive--to hold on 'something' as our ego dictates.
NK Guy explains in the beginning, there's going to be ART in Burning Man, and a lot of it. He also says that, as an artist we think that your art will outlive you, will be here forever even after you're long gone. Maybe, this is what most hope for and what mainstream media advertises. But in reality, it's here then eventually, it's gone or stored in the basement when new art comes along. It is and maybe will be only a memory if someone remembers. Hence, the burn of The Temple after a few days. Its idea that it was here, and now it's gone.
Everyone writes on the Temple. Everyone leaves and offers something to the Temple. No religion or bias, all is welcome. If you are holding on to something, this is where you go to release it. To free yourself of what no longer serves you. If you are healing from something, this is where you lay ground to finally make that happen.

And see, this is the power of what your mind can do. You walk into it, you physically symbolize that freeing construct, and you watch it burn away. Then as life's requirement 101: move the fuck on.
