Going Against The Grain

Happiest November to one and all! The weather is crisp and the season to be with each other is upon us.

Well, today we are going to go against the grain...

In what exactly? 

To a mindset that society demands usually on the holiday season. 

The excessive consumerism of what this season is all about, really. From thanksgiving black fridays to holiday gift giving. For years now, this idea of 'having' to gift material items in excess have bothered me. So, this year just like the last few ones, my family and I always have 'created' gifts and togetherness. I always establish the importance of spending time with the people you love, and so far--we've loved doing it time and time again.

By experiencing the holidays differently we've really explored ways to be creative with one another and also not be stressed with expenses that are not necessary. We have to look at this holiday with a little bit of what it really means--now that the year is ending, a little bit of heart and togetherness, and a little less of breaking the bank.
