Wanting Versus Needing
What motivates us to be a better version of ourselves?
YOURSELF.
The end result, whether it is delayed gratification or instant will push us into gear of doing rather than waiting.
If you have mental conversations with yourself, they're usually in a push or pull type of situation--where one of you doubts yourself and the other motivates. It's a tricky situation, and if you think about it--truly an oxymoron of sorts. In your head, you know what you NEED but don't do it--then the other side of you just keeps going on with what you WANT instead.
How do you shift this, if you are truly stuck?
Well, you don't have to shift it. No one ever said it's illegal to do what you WANT, it is your life.
And also, this constitutes that you are within what is not breaking the law! But, nearly everybody understands this struggle, whether it is working out, eating right, sleeping well, and even meditation. We all have a push and pull from within us that we continuously think we are fighting against with.
Honestly, don't.
Like I said, no one really said you can't carry on with whatever it is you're doing now.
But, do you want your status quo? If you do, then stay there.
But if not, now what? If not now, when? It truly is up to you.
YOURSELF.
