Collect Moments More Than Stuff
My recent trip to Sarasota to see a good friend of mine back in high school invigorated me so much, I felt energized. We did simple things, like cook Filipino dishes and share stories, stroll down memory lane in pure nostalgia and basically hung out.
It's been a couple of years, but here we are just as we remembered it in high school.
Getting into adulthood, we accumulate so much. We accumulate stress that this society brings us, we accumulate pressure, we accumulate things, both material ones and emotional ones.
Eventually, we get tired of all these things we accumulate. Eventually, you are left with yourself and your relationships with people. Eventually, you'd rather invest in laughter shared during vacations. Conversations over good food during dinner time. Happy hour moments with girlfriends you share comical nonsense and the like.
Eventually, you pride yourself in collecting these precious moments rather than the stuff you shop for.
