Sleepless Nights & Biohacking
Sleepless nights or Insomnia?
Let's try to understand the contrast in between. Based on my experience, I know I've had my fair share of sleepless nights because of worrying.
We are all worriers in our own little way, believe it or not. Worries are not made equally, what worries you may not be worry-worthy for me.
And--that right there, my friend is your golden ticket to Hakuna Matata!
Worrying is a state of mind trickery that our unattended brains do to us when it's on overdrive right before the state of sleep. I get these unwanted worries that visit me sometimes in the middle of the night, and consciously, what I've learned myself to do is focus on my breathe.
If I just lay there and tell myself to breathe in and out while counting slowly, I've noticed that eventually it'll be morning time--totally forgetting how I even fell asleep after mind chattering away.
I think worry is equivalent to a sleepless night, especially for a person who does not have insomnia.
Now, insomnia on the other hand--you technically lack the Melatonin hormone produced by the Pineal gland. And technically, you may be concerned about your Pineal gland and natural ways to up its game. Our bodies are the greatest regulating machines in the universe, I would say. So for it to be imbalanced, you alone will know. Self-care starts with conscious decisions to bring yourself to awareness, and not walk blind in this modern society of pill-popping remedies.
The Healist is a great resource through and through for going deeper in understanding your body, mind and spirit. Bio-hacking has been mentioned around the world wide web community, and I think this brings us to light how we all should really believe that we can heal ourselves, our body is definitely capable of being the best version of itself.
