Letting Go of Attachments
The ever so wise Lord Buddha once said that "The root of suffering is attachment", and in so many interpretations it resonates with so many of us, no matter what diverse experience you've had or will experience in this lifetime, the direct human experience is equivalent to our attachments. It's those unrequited soliloquies that disturbs us in the middle of the night, when we're left alone thinking in our heads.
We have attachments pulling us in different directions like no other, our smart phones, our facebook friendships, our thoughts about politics, our opinions about other people's lives, material things, social media (for days), foods, comments about music, name it--you most definitely at some finite level, have an attachment to it.
In our minds, the ultimate human connection should be on broadcast for the whole world wide web to witness, from birth to death-- not that there's anything absolutely wrong with this trend of a gesture, but I think it's not absolutely okay to think that social media has any type of validity to your sanity as a person, and as a whole. I am sure that we are all somehow guilty of this. However, I am also sure that no one can ever understand or know your truth as much as you--yourself can.
If you look into yourself from the inside out, instead of the validity from the outside in, magic starts to happen and the background noise suddenly starts to make sense into peaceful silence. All of a sudden, background noise feels like music part of all the theater music orchestrated to what, where, and why you are here. Attachments? It doesn't matter anymore. None of it will, all you have is yourself--grounded to wherever you are, here, there and everywhere.

Is it all nonsense what happens in our society? No.
But I do think it's a trick to busy our minds and sway us away from what is truly important, OUR SELVES.
How would we know that we've let go of these attachments?
You'll know.
You will definitely KNOW.
